Begoña Correa-Flores
As the Director of CEA CAPA Granada, Begoña provides leadership to her team and is responsible for the successful day-to-day management of the Granada program, and for identifying and implementing opportunities for program development & enhancement, including internships & faculty-led programs, with a strong focus on finance & operations, academics, host institution & local vendor relations, student services, crisis management, health & safety of participants, and site visits.
Begoña holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation & Interpreting, a postgraduate certificate in Education from the University of Granada, and a specialization in Foundations of Management from the IESE Business School. She is a certificated coach, and a sworn translator authorized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She worked as a teacher and congress coordinator before joining CEA CAPA in 1999. Begoña also spent an academic year at Shorewood High School in Wisconsin; as an undergraduate student, she was awarded merit-based scholarships to study at Dublin City University, the University of California San Diego, and Palacky University of Olomouc (Czechia). Begoña is passionate about international education. She works enthusiastically to provide meaningful programs that allow students to experience authentic growth in their time abroad and prepare them to tackle real-world challenges and develop solutions.

Jorge Garay Cañamero
As Senior Student Life Advisor, Jorge’s role is to be the primary contact for students regarding academics in Granada. He coordinates the student registration process and monitors students’ academic progress. Jorge is in charge of organizing students’ arrival, activities, and excursions, as well as Custom Programs organization. Jorge holds a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada, a master’s degree in Foreign Trade and Quality Management from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and two post-graduate degrees: on Immigration Laws from the University of Granada, and on Quality Management from the UNED. He is fluent in both English and French and studied abroad for one academic year in Tours (France).
Prior to joining CEA CAPA, Jorge worked as a freelance sworn translator and interpreter for three years and at the Universidad de Granada, CEA CAPA’s students host institution, for 3.5 years. Jorge’s travels have taken him around the world to more than 40 countries and he advises study abroad students to “make every effort to get immersed into the Spanish culture and way of life. Meet locals and talk to them as much as you can. You will learn from them much more than from any book.”
Cristina Serrano-Baixauli
Cristina provides support in the planning and coordination of housing, activities, and trips, including the coordination of volunteering & internship placements, and she acts as a liaison regarding other aspects of student services onsite. Cristina is from Valencia, and she holds a degree in Translation & Interpreting from the University of Granada. She describes herself as a language enthusiast and has extensive experience studying and working abroad. She studied for two semesters at Wilhelms-Wesfälische University in Münster, Germany. After graduation, Cristina worked two years as Spanish language assistant in Saarland, Germany, and for one year as a Spanish teacher in Warsaw, Poland. She has also worked as translator of scientific articles into English for peer-reviewed journals. She always encourages students to get involved with the community and to explore Granada as much as possible.
In her free time, she loves reading, belly dancing, and traveling. Cristina uses her experience and her passion for meeting people from different cultures to provide students with the most supportive, enriching, and successful time possible in Granada.
Irene Torrecillas-Domínguez
Irene acts as a liaison regarding student’s accommodation while also providing support in other aspects of student services. Irene is from Granada and holds a degree in Translation & Interpreting from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. To experience what is it to live abroad she started participating in several exchange programs in high school and, later, studied for four months at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Irene's understanding of the coordination of leisure and cultural activities is extensive, and she is a qualified youth leader for non-formal education by the Escuela Insignia de Madera. She volunteers at a local Scout Association, and she loves practicing sports, especially rugby and skiing. She takes every opportunity to learn something new; by doing so, she has learned social media management, Montessori English teaching, and a bit of Arabic! Her professional path has been consistently focused on helping other people, including as a local facilitator in the Red Guadalinfo—a project created to provide an internet connection and ICT resources to rural or deprived areas of Andalucía. Irene uses her experience and enthusiasm to provide students with the most supportive, enriching, and successful time possible in Granada.
